Last weekend saw VEDA Co hosting a multifaceted community-building event, aimed at gaining and sharing perspective on collaborative whole-systems design for thriving human habitat. It was our first attempt at something like this in the area, and very experimental in terms of format and aims!
We wanted to give everyone a taste of what happens when a diverse bunch gathers in stimulating setting, with some basic alignments around values and intentions - in this case, the exploration and application of great green design for sustainable community. In theory, we've all got something to offer - and we all stand to benefit by communicating our needs and interests. Using our collective intelligence as a group to work within present circumstances for mutual benefit and spreading impact...good times!
As you can see from the flier above, there was a lot put forward to work with. We had a small, enthusiastic turnout on Saturday morning, and the conversation quickly took shape throughout a 'classroom' period which led on in to an action-packed afternoon.
The garden benefitted splendidly, as did each of us. Here's looking forward to many more of the same in seasons to come. Everyone benefits by sharing skills and building relationships around the area! Events like this help to bring that 'home' and spark unforeseen opportunities.
