What is the Vitalisys Collective becoming? How does it appear in the future? How can we reflect on our activities in this moment, as if looking back from that future which we seek? Important, complex questions! And they belong right out front, as we set course and manage progress through formative stages as a living social organism.
VEDA Co is a model, and it's a small one for now. It's not even half "built" as designed, yet something has emerged here which may grow on to flourish at Neshobe Farm, and beyond, in rapid succession, a contagious social regeneration. What guides all this? The intention is to co-create an organic social habitat system, which integrates and uplifts qualities of the place and population that sustain it. Intention into action is the real deal, and calls for some explicit strategy, feedback, documentation.
An agile open enterprise does not get too caught up with detailed roadmaps and rigid procedural clutter, yet there must be a coherent vision and value proposition alive at the center of things, with regular correlation to the observable realities. There's a balance to maintain, a dance to do, between that long view planning perspective and the immediate negotiations and nuance of life on the ground, with unexpected twists and detours, tangents and breakthroughs.
From a lot of high-altitude outlook and broadcast earlier this year, we're coming in to land on some careful observations of status and accomplishment. As summer winds down and we begin to "reap the harvest" of a season's sewing, there's much to reflect on and anticipate. As the short-term results of our bold experimentation settle in, we note impact, value creation, coherence, divergences, stagnation, and possibility, beginning to connect back from ground level to the far horizons.
It takes time, practice, patience and persistence, to move from broad conceptual models toward stably realized systems or mechanisms--even if the initial results exist just on paper, or in the mind's eye. Such communicable design work builds trust, begins proactive conversation, holds the promise of shared wealth. With the growing body of combined design work and practical knowledge to build from, on our own and through peer networks, it's to be expected that VEDA and kin rise to great prominence in the changing cultural landscape soon, and then effectively fade to the background as this way of life and co-liberty tend towards the familiar norm some 20 years out, whence we can all look back with satisfaction on the tumultuous transition times that fed us the energy and invitation to realign, organically, by design.
